Hi! I'm Bashir Kashalo, but you probably know me as:

THE
MANLIESTDEV

What gives me the right to that title, you ask? Because the bar for "Manliest" is just really low among gamedevs.Jokes aside, I'm a Muslim game developer currently residing in Winnipeg, Canada. I've been making games since I was 16, starting with my first game "Dimensional Slaughter". I've then since went on to develop "Pushing It! With Sisyphus", and the multiplayer successor "Pushing It! Together".My dream is to turn this into my permanent full time job, and someday start a studio!

MANLIEST GAMES

DIMENSIONAL SLAUGHTER

Kill to heal, and never stop moving in this frantic, fast paced retro-styled rogue-lite movement shooter.A short, yet intense speedrun FPS experience.____________
The first proper game I've developed. It's still in early access because I bit off more than I could chew as a novice developer at the time, and also it didn't really make any sales lmao. Someday I still hope to finish this.

Pushing It! With Sisyphus

A difficult and punishing game about pushing a boulder up a hill, where a single slip is all it takes to be back at the start.Inspired by Greek mythology, you play as Sisyphus - a man cursed to an eternity of rolling a boulder up a mountain, destined to never reach the top.____________
This was the second game I launched. It was inspired by watching other people's and my own struggles, taking note of the seemingly Sisyphean nature of life.
Poetically, the development of this game was no exception to the Sisyphean nature of life. PIWS was doing exceptionally well marketing-wise, and I was finally close to achieving my dream of being a successful gamedev! As the game neared launch, I was closer and closer to the top of the hill. But unexpected setbacks occurred - and in the end, the game didn't do nearly as well as initially projected, leaving me at the bottom of the hill again.

Pushing It! Together

An online co-op game about pushing a boulder up a hill with your friends, Pushing It! Together is a multiplayer successor to Pushing It! With SisyphusBut unlike in the previous game, there's hope this time, because you're not alone anymore. You've got each other.
____________
Even after the disappointing performance of the previous game, I wasn't ready to give up just yet. I had one more trick up my sleeve, MULTIPLAYER. And so Pushing it! Together was born.
But despite my efforts, I couldn't do it on my own. So I found a fellow developer - BlindArcher. And with his help I was able to make the game, and this time it was actually successful! And so the one game I made about teamwork, was also my first game working in a team.

LESSER MANLIEST GAMES

Slapple Hook

SLAPPLE HOOK
Created over a period of 2 days and 3 hours for the 2025 Winnipeg Game Jam with the theme "Unconventional Weapon".
In this game, you have a sticky slappy hand and you can use it to grapple and also slap things.
____________
I was the main developer and programmer for this game, though I did receive tons of help from my jam partners. This game was a ton of fun to make. I had to ask Rovi to upload it to Itch.io on my behalf because I was still working on the game while we were a couple minutes from showtime.

Dimensional Daggers

A cancelled VR arena shooter that I didn't really like that much.
____________
I made this game because I really liked another game "Devil Daggers", but wished there was a VR version. I then proceeded to then find out that Devil Daggers actually kinda sucks in VR because it's impossible to not get motion sick, so I cancelled it lmao.
